My wife and I planned to move to Easton.  We found a building lot and then it became a question of finding a builder.  We were moving from Naples, Florida and didn’t have a clue about the custom builders in the area.  I had been in the homebuilding business for decades but had been out of field construction for a very long time.  I had no desire to build the house myself.  We went online and found MJH construction.  We wanted a small design-build company with a great reputation because the house was going to be under construction while we were to remain in Naples.  We flew up and met Mike Harkowa and immediately felt comfortable.

Mike and his team were absolutely wonderful to work with through the design and construction process.  To say that Mike has the patience of Jobe is an understatement.  Of course, my wife and I were lovely to work with during the process. Maybe that’s not completely true. Our community Architectural Review Board and the town officials were an entirely different story.  He managed the permit processing like a champ when I would have been going postal.

Mike found a way to guide us through the specification process, updating me to the current materials and building processes.  Just as an aside, he has a very off-putting habit of being right all of the time.  His attention to detail, and we had a lot of that, and communication skills were terrific. He kept us updated almost daily.  Mike and his team did an awesome job and exceeded our very high expectations.  We could not recommend MJH more highly.  Building a new home is always stressful and especially having it done remotely.  Mike made the process as stress free as possible.  He’s a better custom builder than I ever was.
